Product Details

A glamorous antique Edwardian Suffragette pendant from the early 1900s decorated with gleaming white pearls, a central violet amethyst and a swinging green peridot at the bottom.

Jewellery displaying the colours green, violet and white was often worn in support of the Women’s Social and Political Union (WSPU) which was at the forefront of the UK suffrage movement in the early 1900s. They adopted these three colours to highlight their key virtues: Violet for Royalty, White for Purity and Green for Hope, and also formed the phrase “Give Women Votes!”

The piece has a distinct, open-work Art Nouveau design, with flowing curves and two leafy droppers dangling at each side, expertly fashioned in 15ct gold.

It’s remained in pristine condition and is fitted with a pin on the reverse along with a new 9ct gold loop at the top so it can be worn as a pendant or a brooch.
